Lego Post Office

I've been spending a bit of time lately using Lego's Digital Designer software to design some creations without having to actually have particular bricks in certain colours.

Last night's multitasking (working on LDD while catching up on "Sons of Anarchy") resulted in the above little design. I may have borrowed the red and white colour scheme from Australia Post.

Small enough to fit on a 16x32 baseplate, it's minifig height and still has the following features:

  • Flower garden
  • 8 private post boxes for customers
  • 2 mailboxes for posting letters (red is for regular mail, yellow for Express Post)
  • 1 payphone
  • Envelopes/parcels for sale
  • Post Office counter (with flip-up gate) with built-in drawers and PC
  • Mail-sorting room behind the office, with region map and chart
  • The ubiquitous coffee mug found in most Lego City sets

You can get Digital Designer for yourself (it's a free download) here.
